Is Mexican food hot and spicy?
It can be if you want, but as a rule Authentic Mexican food is not real spicy.
Do you allow substitutions and custom orders?
Absolutely, everything in this building except for tamales (which come from Mexican Village’s Evie’s) is made here. This allows us to customize each and every meal to the customers taste. Basically, if what you want is in the building we can and will make it for you. This is anything but cookie cutter food.
Do you serve alcohol?
Yes, we have a full service bar with most kinds of liquor. If you want something we do not have chances are by the next time you come in we will have it for you. Margaritas are of course our specialty and we offer too many flavors to list. We also offer a large selection of both American and Mexican Beers.
Do you have a no smoking area?
Yes, the entire dining room is no smoking, however we do allow smoking in the bar area if you choose.
Is Rio Grande a chain establishment?
No, Rio Grande is a privately owned business. Built, opened and run by Dawn Salvati. This results in very personal service.
Can you accommodate Vegetarians?
Absolutely, we do not use lard in our beans, or chicken stock in our rice. We offer a large selection of Vegetarian dishes, asks your server for assistance.
What if I have food allergies?
We have been in business for approximately 9 years and we have yet to find a food allergy we cannot accommodate.
What if I don’t want Mexican but the rest of my group does?
No problem, we also offer American food favorites such as Burgers, Fish and Chips and Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, to list a few. A lot of people come in thinking they don’t like Mexican food but after a few questions the staff can help them find a Mexican dish to fit their tastes, and they always end up happy.
Does Rio Grande cater or provide large carryouts?
La Casa Del Rio Grande is known by local businesses for both catering and providing large carryouts. The prices are extremely reasonable and the owner will work with the customer to figure out the appropriate amount of food needed for the occasion. Rio Grande also caters food that is not Mexican Cuisine catering is extremely customizable. Basically, you call and speak to Dawn, tell her how many people you have and the type of food you would like. She will work with you from there to provide an awesome meal at an unbeatable price.
What if I only have a half hour for lunch will I have time to eat pay and get back to work?
We welcome call aheads, you are welcome to call us and tell us when you will be there and what you want we will have the food drink and bill on the table when you arrive. It is usually faster than fast food, with the please of being waited on.
